Cpl. Trent Martin & K9 Capone
Selected as 2014 K9 Team of the Year

Congratulations to Corporal Trent Martin and K-9 Capone! They were named Police K-9 Patrol Team of the Year on February 23rd at the annual meeting of the Vermont Police K-9 Program. K9 teams regularly respond to assist in searches for missing people, to apprehend suspects, to search buildings, and to conduct a variety of other tasks.
Cpl. Martin & Capone, pictured below, responded to many calls in 2014. Two of note included the apprehension of suspects in a burglary and an attempted murder/stabbing case.
There are approximately forty K9 patrol teams in Vermont. Burlington Police maintain three teams.
BPD K9 teams will be on hand doing demonstrations during our Community Barbecue and Open House on May 7 at 4 pm in Battery Park.
