Fairfield Police seeking help in identifying crash victim
The Fairfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a bicyclist that was struck and seriously injured in a collision on Air Base Parkway early this morning. The collision occurred at about 12:40 AM on westbound Air Base Parkway, between Clay Bank Road and Dover Avenue. The bicyclist was in the left lane of traffic for an unknown reason, and was struck by a GMC Sport Utility Vehicle. The driver of the SUV stopped and called 9-1-1. He is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol is not a factor in the collision. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and is currently unconscious at a local trauma center.
The bicyclist is described as a male Hispanic or Asian Pacific Islander, mid-teens to early 20’s. He has a distinctive scar on his right eyelid and on the bridge of his nose, as if he recently had stitches. He was riding a blue mountain bike. Investigators from the traffic unit have contacted local high schools and combed through the list of current missing persons, but have been unable to identify the bicyclist.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Traffic Unit, 707-428-7300.
