LOCATION: Victorville / Apple Valley

SUSPECT(S): Buck Wylde Murphy, age 49, a resident of Victorville

SUMMARY: On February 26, 2015, Detectives from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department initiated an investigation in regards to a 16 year old runaway juvenile from New York, whom it was believed had traveled to California. Through investigation, detectives determined the juvenile had been in contact with Murphy since she arrived in California and was possibly in the High Desert area of San Bernardino County.

Detectives from the Human Trafficking Detail and Apple Valley Police Department were requested to assist with the investigation. At approximately 9:10 p.m., on February 26th , detectives were able to locate the 16 year old female and Murphy in his RV at the Horseman’s Center in Apple Valley. It was determined that Murphy had lured the juvenile, utilizing social media sites, to travel to California, and arranged for her travel. Once in California, the victim was held against her will by threat of force, and sexually assaulted by Murphy over the course of several days.

Murphy was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for the above crimes and is being held on $1,000,000. bail.

Detectives are releasing the booking photo of Murphy as there is concern that there may be other victims.
