On February 28, 2015 at approximately 2:01 AM, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the 3300 block of East Amarillo Blvd. Upon their arrival the discovered a 2011 Dodge 1500 driven by Manuel Irlas, WM,49 of Amarillo had driven left of center causing a head on collision with a 2010 Dodge 2500 driven by Marcos Armando Saenz, WM, 43. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are factors in this collision. The incident is being investigated by the traffic Investigation squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
**UPDATE 3-2-2015, 8:35 AM***Investigators have advised that the injuries sustained by both drivers are not currently considered life threatening.
