On Friday, February 27, 2015, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigation Detectives identified possible suspects in the murder of Olga Dinelli, an 84 year old woman from Penngrove.
On Saturday, at about 2 PM, VCI Detectives discovered that the suspects were travelling eastbound CA Interstate 10, in Riverside County, possibly driving a rental car.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was notified and shortly thereafter the vehicle was located near the City of Indio on Interstate 10. The vehicle contained two individuals matching the descriptions of the murder suspects. Riverside County Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the suspects fled and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued approximately one to two miles into Arizona before the vehicle was disabled. One of the suspects was armed with a gun upon exiting the vehicle and an officer involved shooting occurred. That suspect was killed and is not being identified at this time.
The second suspect, Victor Silva, a 27 year old from Marin County, CA, surrendered without incident.
Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office VCI Detectives also identified a third suspect. On Saturday we arrested John Bruno Martinez, a 27 year old man from Richmond, CA. He was arrested without incident in Richmond.
Martinez was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of an assault weapon and receiving stolen property. He is being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment on March 3, 2015 at 1:30 in the Sonoma County Superior Court, department 9.
Silva is being held on charges surrounding his arrest outside of California and will face extradition to Sonoma County in due course.
This is still an active investigation. Further details regarding the suspects’ identification, tactics in the investigation, suspects’ individual and collective involvement, and other circumstances surrounding this homicide case will not be released at this time. No booking photographs are being released.
