Loma Linda - Theft from Elder/Phone Scam

VICTIM(S): Confidential, 91 year old female, Loma Linda Resident
SUMMARY:
The 91 year old victim received phone calls from a female claiming to be "Jessica Page." Jessica convinced the victim she won 1.3 million dollars in a contest and had the victim wire transfer money into accounts via the internet in "exchange" for her prize. The suspect was able to carry out this scam for two years and stole approximately $300,000.00.
Phone and internet scams are common and often prey on elderly and vulnerable people. If you receive solicitations that are suspicious, do not provide any personal or banking information. It is suggested you try to obtain the callers name, address, phone number and business name. If you think you are receiving scam solicitations or have been a vicitm of such scam, contact your local law enforcement.
