Flurries and light snow are on track to start around midday today and will continue to fall lightly into the early part of this afternoon. This will allow for most treated surfaces to stay wet thru the beginning of this event. However, thru mid-late afternoon, snow becomes steady and even moderate by sunset with conditions likely deteriorating.
Snow likely accumulates quickly before mixing over to sleet and primarily freezing rain from 5–8 pm. freezing rain then threatens thru midnight before winding down 2–5 am. Due to the prolonged threat of freezing rain during this period, there is high potential for 0.10–0.20” of ice on top of the 1.0–2.5” of snow expected.
Snow becomes steadier after 3 PM thru time of mixing with mostly freezing rain (5-8P) High potential for icing this evening and overnight as temps struggle to get above 32. Snow confidence is 1.0-3.0”
