In February of 2015, a person was a victim of a carjacking.  The incident occurred near the Compton Shopping Center along Long Beach Boulevard in the city of Compton.  The suspect brandished a firearm and against the victim’s permission drove away in the victim’s vehicle.  The following day, a person driving the victim’s car, was arrested.  He however, was not the perpetrator who stole the car.  He was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle.  

Detective Moreno conducted further investigation pertaining to the carjacking and was able to gather surveillance photos of the carjacking suspect.  He provided photos of the suspect to Compton Station deputies at daily briefings.  On February 18, 2015, a deputy patrolling in the city saw a person matching the description of the suspect. 

During the course of the investigation, Detective Moreno determined that the person being detained was the main perpetrator in the carjacking.  The suspect was arrested for carjacking, 215P.C.
