Police Arrest Suspects with Guns and Drugs

On February 24, 2015 at approximately 2:11 a.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to a Motel room in the 800 Block of West Pacheco Boulevard regarding a noise disturbance.

Officer Paul Llanez arrived and attempted to make contact with the occupants of the room by knocking on the door. While attempting contact, the Officer heard sounds of a gun being loaded and requested assistance from other Officers.

As additional Officers arrived, the room door opened and the occupants attempted to leave. Officers detained: 20-year-old Demeryce Walker, 22-year-old Shedrick Harris, 22-year-old Michael Nalawagon, 18-year-old Chaise Robelo, 18-year-old Michael Segoviano, and 19-year-old Demarius Ross. During a search

Officers located suspected methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, weighing scales, and two loaded handguns with serial numbers filed down; the handguns were found outside on the ground below the motel room bathroom window.

“This is a great example of the dangers police officers are exposed to every day. Fortunately Officer Llanez and the other Officers on his shift were able to recover these firearms without anyone being injured.”
- Ray Reyna, Commander

All six suspects were placed under arrest and booked into the Los Banos Police Department Jail charged with possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a firearm without an identification mark, and possession of a high capacity ammunition magazine. In addition to these charges, Walker was charged for being a person prohibited from possessing ammunition and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Ross was also booked on an outstanding weapons violations warrant.
