Advisory

Wintery weather expected to move in tonight and possibly affect rush hour traffic.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the metro Atlanta area to include Marietta. A wintery mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to move into the area around 2am. A dusting to less than an inch of snow, up to .1 tenth of an inch of ice and sleet is expected with this system. Although temperatures are expected to be above freezing by mid morning, commuters should take extra precautions while traveling on the roadways.

This wintery mix could affect the roadways and possibly create power outage issues. if possible, delay your commute to avoid troubled roadways or allow yourself a lot of extra time for your commute. Slow your speeds if roadways become icy and use due care and extreme caution.

The Marietta Police Department will update roadway conditions on Nixle and our social media pages as needed so you can accurately plan your routes.
