DATE/TIME: February 22, 2015/10:00 AM
INCIDENT: Carrying a Loaded Firearm/Resisting Arrest/Burglary
LOCATION: 11600 Block of East End Ave., Chino
SUSPECT(S): Jose Guadalupe Godinez, 20 years old of Pomona
SUMMARY: On February 22, 2015, at approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff's Station were dispatched to the Peachwood Mobile Home Park located near East End Ave. and Phillips Blvd. in the unincorporated area of Chino. A resident reported seeing a subject brandish a firearm during an argument. The subject's description was given to deputies from the Chino Hills Station and to officers from the Chino Police Department. While Deputy Khalid Alsuwadi was responding to the area, an officer from the Chino Police Department observed a subject who matched the description of Jose Godinez, walking on East End Avenue. When the subject was approached, Godinez ran and a foot pursuit ensued. A San Bernardino Sheriff's helicopter was overhead and saw Godinez running. The helicopter observer saw Godinez discard a firearm before jumping a fence and was trying to break into a residence to hide. Deputy Julian Enriquez from the Chino Hills Station entered the yard and took Godinez into custody after a brief struggle. No one was injured during the incident.
Deputy Alsuwadi recovered the handgun Godinez discarded and found it was loaded with two rounds of ammunition. A computer check of the handgun showed it was reported stolen in 1984. Godinez was subsequently booked at the West Valley Detention Center for Carrying a Loaded Firearm/Resisting Arrest/Burglary
