Sonoma County Sherrif's Detectives arrest Montana man for burglarizing the home an elderly woman while she slept

On 02/15/2015, at approximately 0700 hours, an elderly female living by the Sonoma County Fair Grounds awoke to discover that her home had been burglarized while she slept. She called the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident and deputies responded to her home.

Deputies searched the victim’s house and property. It was discovered that the suspect(s) spent a considerable amount of time inside the victim’s house. Numerous items of value were stolen to include an entertainment system, computers, I-Pads, cameras, credit cards, jewelry, and other misc items.

Deputies discovered that a majority of the stolen property was located hidden outside the victim’s house, but on her property. Believing the suspect(s) would return to retrieve the property, detectives set up an overnight surveillance of the victim’s residence, but the suspect(s) did not return.

On 02/16/2015, at around 1000 hours, Detectives were able to track one of the victim’s stolen I-Pads to a restaurant, located on Redwood Drive in Rohnert Park. Detectives located (S) Michael Lee McClure, 20 years of age, with a listed address in Kalispell, Montana. He was passed out inside of the restaurant and had been for over 2 hours.

Detectives initially arrested McClure for being under the influence of drugs and possession of stolen property. McClure had the victim’s stolen backpack, I-Pad, and numerous other items belonging to the victim. The suspect was wearing the victim’s stolen watch and her stolen scarf. McClure was found with drugs in his possession.

McClure was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and interviewed by detectives. Statements and evidence linked the suspect to the “Hot Prowl” residential burglary.

McClure was booked into the Sonoma County jail for 1st degree Residential Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of Meth. McClure’s bail was set at $300,000 due to the circumstances and that he was a flight risk.
