Vehicles through the checkpoint: 1305

Drivers contacted: 900

Driving under the influence arrests: 4 (1 of which was arrested for felony vandalism for damage to radio car window)

Suspended license citations: 3

Unlicensed driver citations: 9

Registered owner allowing unlicensed driver to operate vehicle citations 5

Vehicle stored: 3

Vehicles impounded: 3

Nationwide, DUI related deaths continue to plague the nation.   In Compton the last two years DUI collisions were 20 in 2014 and 43 in 2013.   Compton Station tries to combat the number of DUI fatalities and collisions by conducting DUI Checkpoints and periodic DUI directed patrol operations.  Funding for these operations comes from the Sheriff’s Departments Risk Management Bureau who oversees all the county wide DUI operations.
