Shopping Safety Tip: Recent thefts from shopping centers.

Recently several purse thefts have been reported to the Arcadia Police Department.  They occurred in the parking lots of the 99 Ranch Market (1300 S. Golden West) and the Arcadia Super Market (645 W. Duarte Rd).

These thefts occurred when unsuspecting shoppers left belongings behind in a shopping cart while placing merchandise in their vehicle.  The suspect(s) approached the victims, grabbed the property, and fled the area.

The Arcadia Police Department would like to offer the following tips aimed to prevent these types of thefts:

·      Always be alert and aware of your surroundings.

·      Keep your valuables out of view.

·      Don’t leave valuables, such as purses or cell phones, unattended while           shopping or putting merchandise in your vehicle.

In the event you do become a victim of such a theft, try to remain calm and get a description of the suspect(s) if possible.  Please call 911 immediately and report the crime to authorities.

As always, The Arcadia Police Department wants to remind you that if you See Something, Say Something.
