Trooper Stops to Help Stranded Motorist and Finds Driver Wanted

Greene County—Yesterday afternoon, around 4:00, with temperatures below freezing, Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Senior Trooper Byron Goodman stopped to assist a stranded motorist on State Road 54 near County Road 1375 West, Linton.

The 2002 Saturn was determined to be out of fuel. The female was not in possession of warm or inclement clothing and refused multiple offers for a ride to Linton from Goodman. A routine check of the driver revealed she was wanted on warrant out of Clay County Indiana for Failure to Return to Lawful Detention (felony).

Arrested: Sheri Fiscus, age 34, of Jasonville, Indiana

Charge: Failure to Return to Lawful Detention (felony)
Incarcerated in Clay County Jail

Assisting were ISP Trooper Timothy Henning
