OPD Arrests Carjacking Suspect – On Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 6:26 PM, Oakland Police officers on patrol in the 6600 block of International Boulevard observed a vehicle being driven in an unsafe manner. The officers discovered that the vehicle had been taken in a recent carjacking and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. The driver was arrested for the carjacking.
Armed Robber Arrested – On Sunday, February 15, 2015 at about 9:14 PM, Oakland Police officers on patrol in the 1200 block of Excelsior Avenue observed a vehicle that was wanted in connection with an armed robbery. The officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop but the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the officers were able to take him into custody. The officers recovered an illegal firearm and stolen items from the car.
