Sonoma County Sheriff Coroner’s Office is releasing the name of the woman found dead in the surf line on Saturday February 7, 2015, in Jenner, at an area locally known as Driftwood Beach on the northside of the mouth of the Russian River.
The deceased is identified as Janelle Patrice McGovern, a 30 year old woman from Santa Rosa. Her family was located and informed of her death.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigations Unit will conduct the preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The Sonoma County Coroner Office is conducting a parallel investigation to determine the cause and manner of her death.
There is no information indicating that McGovern had been the victim of foul play or that the circumstances surrounding her death were suspicious. The Sonoma County Coroner Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause and manner of her death.
