Troopers Jail Two Women In Stolen Car With GPS Monitor
Seymour – Indiana State Police Troopers jailed two women after they were stopped in a stolen car that was equipped with a tracking device.
On Friday February 13, 2015 around 09:09 AM, area officers received a report of a white 2003 Toyota Solara traveling south on I-65 from Edinburgh. The car was reported as stolen to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and its location was being tracked by use of GPS. Updated locations of the stolen vehicle were given to officers by an ISP dispatcher. Master Trooper Tommy Walker observed the car exit I-65 at the 55mm and go south on SR 11. With the assistance of two Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies, the white Toyota was stopped and both occupants were taken into custody.
The driver, Katheryne C. Woolard 26, of Anderson, Indiana was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, a Level 6 felony and Driving While Suspended-Prior, a Class A Misdemeanor. Further investigation determined Woolard is the subject of two Madison County warrants, one for Violation of Parole Conditions and the other for Failure to return to incarceration.
The passenger, Leanna L. Lane 48, of Indianapolis, Indiana was charged with Criminal Trespass, A Class A Misdemeanor. Further investigation determined Lane is the subject of a Madison County warrant for Fraud, a Level 6 Felony.
Woolard and Lane were transported to the Jackson County Jail where they were incarcerated.
Indiana State Police was assisted by Bartholomew County Sheriff and Seymour Police Department. The car was recovered by 31 Wrecker of Seymour.
