Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr. advises that Deputies were dispatched to a fatal traffic crash on M-51 at Edwards St. in Pokagon Twp. Cass County Michigan on 02/12/15 at 2326 Hrs.

Upon arriving and investigating the scene Deputies were able to determine that the victim Joshua Yahne 22yrs old of Dowagiac Michigan was walking South bound on M-51 when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a Jamika Morgan 21yrs old of Elkhart Indiana. After striking Yahne the vehicle ran off the road, hit a utility poll and rolled over an unknown amount of times.

In the vehicle with Morgan were two small children (names being withheld) The children were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac where they were treated and released.

Morgan was transported to Memorial Hospital for her injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Pokagon Fire Dept, Indian Lake Fire Dept, City of Dowagiac Fire Dept. Also Pride Care Ambulance and SMCAS Ambulance.

This Crash remains under investigation, anyone with information are asked to call the Cass County Sheriffs Office.
