Spencerville Man Jailed on Multiple Charges Relating to Injured Infant
(DeKalb County, IN)-A 23 year old man from the DeKalb County town of Spencerville was arrested early this morning by the Indiana State Police following an investigation into severe injuries sustained by a six-month old baby.
According to Detective Jake Quick, this morning at approximately 1:45 a.m. he was summoned to Parkview Regional Medical Center to investigate the events resulting in a six-month old female that suffered a fractured skull, internal head injuries and a healing broken rib.
Information developed during the course of Quick’s investigation resulted in the arrest of 23 year old Juan Luis Ledesma on the following charges:
- 2 Counts of Battery to a Child Under the Age of 14, Level 3 Felonies
- 2 Counts of Neglect of a Dependent Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Level 3 Felonies
Ledesma was taken to and incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail. Assisting Quick were the DeKalb County Sheriff Department, Auburn Police Department and the DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office.
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law
