February 6th

Auto burglary – 3000 block of Yolo Ave.
Between 2/5/15 at 2230 hours and 2/6/15 at 0600 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a duffel bag.

Brandishing a weapon – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1139 hours, an apartment maintenance worker found a 46-year-old transient man sleeping in a storage shed. When told to leave, the suspect brandished a shovel at the maintenance worker. Officers arrived and arrested the man. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto burglary – El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1400 hours and 1800 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a backpack.

Sexual battery – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1857 hours, officers responded to the location after a suspect grabbed a female’s buttocks while in the store. The victim punched the suspect in the face and he fled on a silver scooter. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20’s, wearing a black jacket and gray shirt.

February 7th

Vehicle theft – 8600 block of Thors Bay Rd.
At 0430 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2013 Chevrolet Camaro.

Hit and run – S. 56th St. / Cypress Ave.
At 0912 hours, officers were dispatched to a hit and run at this location. Upon arrival, officers learned that she suspect drove the vehicle around the block a few times before fleeing the area. Officers located the suspect vehicle a few blocks away with no driver inside. The vehicle was impounded for evidence processing.

Theft by false pretenses – El Cerrito Plaza
A business owner in the plaza received a phone call from someone claiming to be PG&E. The suspect told the victim that her power was going to be disconnected that evening if she didn’t pay the balance on her bill. The suspect talked the victim into putting almost $400.00 onto a prepaid Visa card and providing the suspects with the card number. After the transaction, the victim became weary of the process and called PG&E. She was told by a representative that she was the victim of fraud. PG&E cautioned that this is a new fraud being conducted frequently.

Auto burglary – 6400 block of Stockton Ave.
Between 0000 hours and 0600 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a laptop bag with a laptop and work papers.

Petty theft – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1745 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 54-year-old Richmond man after he stole a bottle of alcohol from the store. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Ave. / Lincoln Ave.
At 0204 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 26-year-old San Pablo man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.

Possession of concentrated cannabis – 800 block of Elm St.
At 2314 hours, an officer conducted a bicycle enforcement stop and arrested a 25-year-old El Cerrito man for possession of concentrated cannabis. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released pending lab results.

February 8th

Auto burglary – 3200 block of Carlson Blvd.
Between 1000 hours and 1250 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a purse.

Vehicle tampering – 800 block of Richmond St.
Between 2/7/15 at 2000 hours and 2/8/15 at 1315 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, rummaged the interior, but did not take anything.

Sexual Battery - Carlson Blvd / San Diego St:
At 2145 hours an officer responded to the report that a black male, 30’s light goatee, 6’0” 140lbs, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and pants followed a woman from Wells Fargo after trying to engage her in conversation. (S) then squeezed (V)’s buttocks with his hand. A brief fight ensued with the victim fighting back. The (S) fled in an unknown direction.

Commercial Burglary 10500 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 0250 hours, officers responded to a window smash alarm. An unidentified suspect smashed the window and pushed down the security screen. Once inside (S) grabbed cigarettes and then fled.
