Increase Train Traffic and Speeds through Ada beginning in February.
The Ada Police Department would like to caution the traveling public of increased train traffic and train speeds beginning within the month of February.
According to the Chicago Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad (CFE), due to increased rail traffic in Chicago and additional lines to Chicago, our tracks will see up to six additional trains per day with speeds up to 40 miles per hour.
Please note that currently trains traveling through Ada travel approximately 15 to 20 miles per hour and so this will be a significant change from what the public is used to.
Please use caution at our gates and due to the increased traffic and speeds there will be increased enforcement for gate crossing violations in order to maintain safety and security for the traveling public.
