Detectives in Paramount Investigating Theft of Pet Iguana named “Godzilla.” 
On Monday, February 2, 2014, a pet iguana named Godzilla was stolen from an outdoor sanctuary in front of a pet store in the 8000 block of Rosecrans Avenue. The owners of the store later released surveillance video showing a male wearing baggy clothing, removing “Godzilla” from a fenced area adjacent to the store on Monday afternoon.
Godzilla was recovered today after a pet shop owner in another city recognized the missing iguana as one they had purchased from an unknown individual on Tuesday. The helpful owner notified the pet shop in Paramount and arranged Godzilla’s safe return to his rightful owners.
Detectives are scouring surveillance video in an attempt to identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at the Paramount Sub-Station at (562) 220-2000.
