Criminal Recklessness with a Weapon Lands Suspect in Jail

Waynetown-A complaint of a gas smell at 311 Blackford Street in Waynetown, IN to Vectren Energy Company has landed one man in jail for criminal recklessness with a weapon.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Nelson Davis has revealed that the complaint of a natural gas smell at an empty residence prompted a call to the gas company. Upon arrival of a gas company representative, the representative noticed what appeared to be bullet holes in the outside walls of the residence near the meter. That prompted a call to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department who in turn requested the Indiana State Police to meet with the gas company representative.

Upon further investigation by Troopers Davis and Nate Hampton, it appeared the shots may have allegedly come from the residence next door at 309 Blackford. After a conclusion of interviews, Lance E. Snyder, 34 of Waynetown, was lodged into the Montgomery County Jail. He was charged with a Level 5 Felony of Criminal Recklessness with a Weapon. Other charges may be pending as this investigation is continuing.

Assisting at the scene were Sergeant Todd Walsh and Detective Aaron French of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. This is all the information that will be released at this time.
