Sonoma County Sheriff Deputies arrest pair of thieves: recover property and find marijuana, and a gun.

On January 7, 2015, at 6:00 PM, a Santa Rosa woman parked her vehicle at the Bellevue Elementary School on Primrose Avenue in Santa Rosa. The woman left her purse inside her unlocked vehicle and helped out at the school doing volunteer work with children. When she returned to her vehicle, she discovered that someone had stolen her purse, which contained her credit cards.

The woman called several financial institutions to cancel her credit cards. She learned that someone had already fraudulently used her stolen credit cards at various businesses in Sonoma County to include Safeway, Wal-Mart, and the Graton Casino. The woman called the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and filed a crime report.

Deputies obtained surveillance video of the suspect and his vehicle from several of the businesses where the victim’s stolen credit cards were fraudulently used. Deputies recognized the suspect as Shane Paul Titman, 36 years old, a Santa Rosa resident. Deputies requested the assistance of the Property Crimes Detective unit.

On January 28, 2015, PCI Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Titman for Burglary, ID Theft, and Credit Card Fraud. Detectives were actively looking for Titman.

On January 29, 2015, at about 7:40 PM, a Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol spotted Titman driving in his white Chevy Avalanche in the area of the Coddingtown Mall. There was a female passenger in the car, Dayna Marie Grimwood, a 34 year old from Rohnert Park.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested Titman without incident for his outstanding arrest warrant related to this case. Grimwood was on probation and was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, and violation of probation.

The patrol Deputies immediately notified the PCI Detectives. They obtained a search warrant for Titman’s vehicle and residence.

Detectives served the search warrant and found items that were purchased with the stolen credit cards. Some of the fraudulent purchases included a baby rocking chair and a fishing pole.

Detectives also discovered over 20 pounds of processed marijuana, packaging material, a scale, and a firearm.

Detectives also recovered a violin that had been in a reported car burglary that occurred over New Year’s in the Guerneville area.

Titman was booked at the county jail for his outstanding warrant, along with additional charges of Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Stolen Property. Titman’s bail was set at $60,000. He posted bond and will appear in court on February 3 at 8:30.

Grimwood was booked at the county jail and her bail was set at $4,500. She is scheduled for court on February 2 at 8:30.

Case numbers 150107-015, 150108-003, 150129-027.
