Last night, North Brunswick Patrol Officers responded to a reported unconscious, possibly suicidal male at a Livingston Avenue address. Officers arrived quickly and located the male, confirming he was down and unconscious. After assessing the male, Officers determined that he was suffering from a drug overdose. Using the recently deployed Nasal Narcan kits, the Officers administered the prescribed medication. Township EMS arrived, and together another dose was administered. Moments later, the male regained consciousness and was transported to an area hospital for further assessment.
This is the Department's first utilization of the Nasal Narcan, and proudly, the first reversal/revival.
The Nasal Narcan was purchased through a program issued by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
