Press Conference on Possible Measles Case
WHO: Local health leaders including Dr. Takashi Wada and Dr. Charity Thoman, Second District Supervisor and Board Chair Janet Wolf and other local representatives.
WHAT: California is experiencing an outbreak of measles and now Santa Barbara County has a possible case. Our state is also experiencing increases in other communicable diseases. What does this mean for residents and what should they do to stay healthy?
WHEN: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 pm, Wednesday, January 28, 2015
WHERE: County Administration Building, 105 East Anapamu Street, 4th floor Board of Supervisors Conference Room
WHY: There is a great deal in our news about measles, pertussis and other communicable diseases. There is a public health system in place to respond timely and thoroughly to identify, screen, and intervene when needed. There are actions individuals can take that will lower their risk and strengthen their health. These issues will be discussed by experts in the field.
