Neighborhood Watch

The Madison Police Department is pleased to announce the revival of the Borough’s long-standing Neighborhood Watch program. Even though Madison is a very safe community, recent residential burglaries, frauds and motor vehicle thefts in the area have proven that we are not immune to crime. Madison’s new Neighborhood Watch will be a neighborhood-centric program which will emphasize strong relationships with neighbors and an open line of communication with the Police Department.

Chief Darren Dachisen Sr. said "that in order to be effective, the Police Department needs community involvement. The Neighborhood Watch program will be the eyes and ears of the community and will help us keep Madison safe”. Interested residents are encouraged to serve as Neighborhood Watch captains and receive training at the Police Department. Training will include:

• Home & Family Safety
• Personal Safety
• Terrorism Awareness
• How to Report Suspicious Activity
• How to Address Local Community / Neighborhood Concerns

After volunteers have been trained they will be expected to gather contact information from neighbors and facilitate communication between the Police Department and their neighborhood.

If you are interested in getting involved in the Neighborhood Watch program please contact Patrolman Rybka via e-mail (preferred) at: [email protected], or by phone at: (973) 593-3005.
