Indiana State Police Working Fatal Crash on I-70
Morgan, Co. - The Indiana State Police are working a single vehicle semi-tractor roll over crash that occurred at 6:00 a.m. this morning on I-70 at the 61.4 mm WB, approximately two miles east of SR 39.
Preliminary investigation has reveled that Robert Giltz, 46, of Beth Page, Tennessee, was operating a 2012 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer and box trailer WB on I-70 at the 61.4 mm. The truck was being operated for Warner Enterprises. For reasons unknown the semi-tractor trailer went off the right side of the roadway down the earth embankment and over turned onto the driver’s side. No skid or evasive marks were left at the scene.
Giltz was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for later this afternoon.
The non-hazardous cargo in the box trailer was not compromised and will be off loaded onto another trailer to be removed.
WB traffic was restricted to one lane at the scene while emergency personal conducted the investigation and cleared the wreckage.
