Hansard Promoted to First Sergeant to Serve as Polygraph Unit Supervisor

 

Indianapolis, IN-Monday, January 26th, Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter promoted Sergeant Paul Hansard to the rank of First Sergeant to serve as the Polygraph Unit supervisor. Hansard was selected after competing in a stringent written and oral interview process.

 

Hansard is a native of Henry County, Indiana and a 1991 graduate of Union High School. He attended Ball State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology in 1995.  

 

Hansard began his law enforcement career in 1996 upon graduation from the 54th Indiana State Police Academy. He was assigned to the Redkey Post and patrolled Delaware County. In 2000, Hansard was assigned to a one year undercover detail with the Drug Enforcement Section. He returned to the Redkey District and was promoted to detective in 2005. In 2007, Hansard transferred to the Pendleton Post and worked as a detective until his promotion in 2011 as the polygraph examiner sergeant serving central Indiana.

 

Hansard’s primary duty as First Sergeant in the Polygraph Unit will be supervising the five polygraph examiners throughout the State of Indiana.

 

First Sergeant Hansard resides with his wife and three children in Deleware County.
