On January 26, 2015, at approximately 7:55 PM, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of S Bell on a motor vehicle crash. Responding officers determined that a 2014 Ram 3500 driven by Vinton Lee Shirk, WM, 38 of Oklahoma City had been south bound on Bell Street, in the right lane. Shirk was attempting to make a U-turn when he was struck by a southbound 1984 Honda Gold Wing driven by Alex Lloyd Henderson, WM, 28 of Amarillo. The Gold Wing was southbound in the left lane. Henderson was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed is a factor in this collision with the motorcycle. Henderson was not wearing a helmet. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
