Alert

Travel ban lifted statewide-Parking/Snow removal

For the past several hours, radar returns have been unable to advance further westward than Route 9. So while, areas at the Jersey Shore have been snowing and accumulating during this time period, areas away from the Shore are still waiting. Even at the Shore, the radar returns are having a difficult time maintaining there intensity. Over the past hour, snow is finally breaking out across interior central and northern NJ, but there is going to be a very large gradient in snowfall amounts between the immediate coast and areas further inland.
This will be still be a major snowstorm along immediate coast, but not a paralyzing event. Further inland residents will be waking up this morning and wondering what happened.
Revisions to snow amounts are necessary. The gradients will be very tight:
Neptune area and along the immediate central and northern NJ coast to the east of Route 9 including NYC, (or east of a line from southern Ocean County to Freehold to New Brunswick to the eastern Morris County border) 12 to 16 inches of snow will fall with blizzard conditions
Areas between the line described above and a line from Atlantic City to Upper Freehold to eastern Sussex County - 8 to 12 inches
Westward from the Atlantic City/Upper Freehold/eastern Sussex County line to the NJ/PA border north of and including Trenton - 5 to 8 inches. That same line and south of Trenton including Philly - 3 to 6 inches.

Snow remaoval/Parking. When possible, park vehicles off street prior and during winter storms. On one-way streets, park on the left hand side of streets as you face the direction of traffic flow. This will make it easier for plows to operate on the narrow streets such as Bond, Emory, Heck, Bergh and Webb. Alternative side of the street parking is in effect on all other streets. Please refer to the ‘Alternate Side/No Parking’ Legend here http://www.asburyparkchamber.com/pdfs/alternate_side_zones.pdf (or in some cases street signage).
