Bomb hoax called in a the Signal Hill Home Depot store
Today at approximately 4:17 p.m. an employee from The Home Depot store (2450 Cherry Ave) received two phone calls from a caller stating there was a bomb in the building. Signal Hill Police Officers with the assistance of Long Beach Police Officers responded to the Home Depot store and evacuated the building. The assistance of The Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department Bomb Squat and the Los Angeles County Fire Department was requested. A unified command was staged with LBPD, SHPD, L.A County Fire Department, and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad.
The Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department Bomb Squad conducted a search of the Home Depot store, and No suspicious items were located and the building was deemed all clear.
