7 Members of the WCPD including K9 Reiko to receive honors at Public Safety Luncheon on Jan 26, 2015

On Monday, January 26, 2015 seven members of the West Covina Police Department, which includes Police K9 "Reiko" will be honored for services above and beyond at the annual City of West Covina Public Safety Luncheon. The event will be held at the South Hills Country Club located at 2655 S. Citrus Avenue, West Covina starting at 11:30 am.

Those being honored are:

OFFICER EDDIE GOMEZ - OFFICER OF THE YEAR

SHELLY LISKA - CIVILIAN EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

OFFICER DAVID REYES - LIFE SAVING AWARD
OFFICER EDUARDO FLORES - LIFE SAVING AWARD
Officers Reyes and Flores are credited with saving the life of an 88 choking victim on January 21, 2014

OFFICER NOEL FLAMENO - LIFE SAVING AWARD
OFFICER CHASTIN TEDESCO - LIFE SAVING AWARD
Officers Flameno and Tedesco are credited with saving the life of a 56 year old choking victim on April 6, 2014.

K9 "REIKO" - MEDAL OF VALOR
K9 "Reiko" is to receive the Medal of Valor for courage under fire and act of bravery without regard for his own safety. K9 Reiko was shot on November 23, 2014 at point black range by a suspect wanted for murder and has since recovered and is back to full duty.
