INCIDENT: Aggravated Assault on an Officer

SUSPECT: Keyandre Funches, 25 yoa, of Marietta
CHARGES: Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Obstruction, Criminal Trespass
The Marietta Police Department is currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for the attempted murder of one our officers.
On January 16, 2015 at 1:05am, an MPD Officer was responding to a domestic dispute at 1035 Franklin Road and observed the suspect, later identified as Keyandre Funches, in the parking lot. The officer engaged in a foot pursuit with the suspect through the complex. During the chase, the suspect took a position of cover/ambush behind a tree and raised a firearm in a threatening manner. The evidence supports that the suspect attempted to fire at the officer, but experienced a malfunction or misfire. Continued efforts to locate Funches were attempted but unsuccessful.
Funches should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Funches they are asked to call 911. At no time should anyone attempt to approach the suspect.
