Press release for fatal traffic collision on 01-21-2015 
On January 21, 2015, at approximately 12:01 p.m., officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a major single car traffic collision on Sepulveda Boulevard and Linda Drive.
On arrival, officers discovered that a 1994 Buick LeSabre traveling eastbound on Sepulveda Boulevard collided with the south curb for an unknown reason, causing it to leave the roadway and collide with a power pole. The driver, a 64-year-old male resident of Redondo Beach, and sole occupant of the vehicle was treated by Torrance Fire Department Personnel at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver was positively identified by investigators, but his name is being withheld pending notification to a next of kin.
Sepulveda Boulevard was closed in both directions between Palos Verdes Boulevard and just east of Knob Hill Avenue for approximately three hours during the collision investigation.
This collision is being investigated by the Torrance Police Department’s Traffic Division under the command of Acting Captain David Petersen, Commander of the Special Operations Bureau.
