Stevenson Ranch, Zone 3, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot for 01/12/2015 to 01/18/2015.

Last week in Zone 3, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

A residential burglary involving a domestic violence incident occurred in the 25500 block of Huxley Drive. The resident arrived home to find his ex-girlfriend inside his house. The suspect damaged the victim’s property and struck the victim with a wooden object prior to leaving the location with property belonging to the victim. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A residential burglary occurred in the 25300 block of The Old Road. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s apartment via the sliding glass door and stole the victim’s laptop computer and miscellaneous change.

Another residential burglary occurred in the 25300 block of Silver Aspen Way. Unknown suspect(s) entered the storage unit and stole the victim’s portable air compressor and miscellaneous paperwork containing the victim’s personal information. Entry was made to the unit by forcing the knob lock open.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 25300 block of Silver Aspen Way. Unknown suspect(s) broke the knob lock to the storage unit during an attempt to gain entry.

A burglary (shoplifting) incident occurred in the 25400 block of The Old Road. Four males in their late 20’s entered the business, filled a shopping cart with store merchandise and attempted to walk out without paying. The suspects fled on foot and left in a blue SUV south on the Old Road out of sight. The shopping cart filled with merchandise was recovered, and one of the suspects fled with merchandise concealed on his person.

Another burglary (shoplifting) incident occurred in the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road. Two black males in their 20’s entered the business. Each suspect ripped two phones from the display. The suspects then fled through the parking lot on foot and out of sight.

A grand theft incident occurred in the 27200 block of Pico Canyon Road at a county park, “Mentryville Park.” Unknown person(s) entered an unlocked company work truck and stole a high end 200m wide angle film lens valued at $20,000.00.

Another grand theft incident occurred in the 25000 block of Oliver Way. Unknown suspect(s) removed construction equipment from the informant’s company vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence. The property was stolen from the rear bed of the vehicle. Loss was miscellaneous construction equipment.

A theft of a vehicle occurred in the 24900 block of Constitution Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s newer model Nissan Altima from the victim’s residence.

A Petty Theft (from vehicle) occurred in the 25700 block of Elliot Court. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a CD case and multiple CD’s valued at $200.

Another Petty Theft incident occurred in the 26800 block of Pine Hollow Court. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a briefcase containing the victim’s checkbook and other identifying paperwork.

Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind year round:

- Please remember to use your deadbolts when securing the doors in your home. 

- Park your vehicle in well lighted areas and lock all doors, even if away from your vehicle for a short period of time.

- If you see any suspicious persons in your neighborhood, or place of business, please do not hesitate to the call the Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.

- Also, please remember to store your local law enforcement’s station phone number in to your cellular phone.
