Burglary Arrests

(Etowah County, Alabama) Two individuals have been arrested and charged in connection to a burglary, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Rickey Ray Amos, 32, and Zachary Adam McClellan, 26, both of Boaz, are each charged with one count of third degree burglary, which is a felony,” investigator Robin Grant said.

The duo allegedly broke into a residence, located on Egypt Road, on Monday, January 19. The home owner’s neighbor saw a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood and took a photo of it. Minutes later, the neighbor witnessed the truck leaving the residence and a stolen television falling out of the truck. From the photo, and neighbor’s description of the truck and suspects, a license plate number was obtained.

Deputies recognized information that returned from the tag number and were able to quickly locate the suspicious truck. The vehicle, along with stolen items from the house, was discovered at a residence on Summerville Road, Boaz. Amos and McClellan were found hiding inside the house.

Amso is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond. He also has a probation violation. McClellan is being detained $15,000 property bond.

A special thank you to deputies of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Douglas Police Department and Alabama State Probation for assisting with the case.
