Three arrested after early morning traffic stop.

On Wednesday January 21st at 2:25am, an APD officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted on the gold Cadillac Escalade and the occupants were identified. While officers were speaking with the driver, he was patted down for any weapons. Officers felt something inside his pants pocket that appeared to be a plastic card of some type. The officer asked for and received permission to reach inside the pocket and retrieve the item. The item turned out to be a Gold American Express card in a different individual’s name. Through the officers investigation, it was determined this card was stolen in a recent auto burglary in a south Amarillo neighborhood. The victim in the auto burglary was contacted and also reported a leather briefcase was stolen from his vehicle as well. While inventorying the vehicle, officers located the stolen briefcase and several other items belonging to the victim. The driver of the Cadillac also attempted to use the stolen credit card at a nearby convenience store but was unsuccessful. Additional investigation determined that all three individuals were acting together in the commission of these crimes and all three were arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of Engaged in Organized Criminal Act. Arrested were the driver Levi Stuart Nicholas W/M 37; David Stuart Nicholas W/M 19 and Isaiah Villa H/M 19. Levi Nicholas was also charged in Credit or Debit Card Abuse.
