SNOW in effect for York area thru 2pm.
Snow is expected to begin shortly and spread steadily north and east during the day. Accumulations and snowfall rates will be heaviest during the late morning in the Laurels and Western Mountains, and during the afternoon elsewhere. The greatest impacts to travel will be mainly during brief heavy bands of snow which will be transitory across the area. Visibilities could be reduced to less than a quarter of a mile in those bands, with snowfall rates near an inch per hour.
