Deputies seize 44 dogs and 3 birds in animal cruelty case; Marion couple issued criminal summons 
Detective Curtis Stuteville of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office issued criminal summons for 49-year-old Robert Keith Arrowood and 42-year-old Cassie Francine Arrowood, both of 8339 U.S. 221 South in Marion, for misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
McDowell County sheriff’s deputies received information on Wednesday, Jan. 14 about possible abuse and/or neglect of dogs at the Arrowood home.
A check of the residence was performed, and, subsequently, McDowell County sheriff’s deputies and detectives seized 42 dachshunds, two German shepherds and three birds.
All of the animals are currently in foster care pending the outcome of the cases.
