Friday night "carjacking" robbery ends with arrest of suspect...

On 1-16-15, at 7:55 PM, officers were sent to a home in the 800 block of S. Kentucky on a robbery.  They found a pizza delivery driver, a WM 21, in a home there, seeking medical attention.  He had injuries on his face and head.  He told officers that he had just delivered a pizza and was southbound on Kentucky when a HM with no shirt stood in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop in the roadway.  The suspect got into the passenger side door of the victim’s vehicle and asked for a ride.  The driver refused.  The man hit the driver in the face with his fist then produced a handgun hit him in the face several times.  The driver got out of his car, and the suspect drove away.  Shortly after that, officers were sent to 8th and S. Pierce on a hit and run accident.  The driver’s stolen 2000 Oldsmobile had hit a construction barricade and then went into the dirt lot on the SE corner of the intersection.  The driver/suspect fled.  About an hour after the original call went out, officers responded to two separate calls of an intoxicated person knocking on doors and yelling about a gun in the 500 block of S. Browning.  In the first call, the witness came to the APD to report the disorderly man.  Officers responding to the second call saw the described suspect walking in the 700 block of S. Browning.  He was taken into custody.  He was Adrian Baca HM 31.  He had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation charge stemming from a burglary of a habitation/enhanced conviction.  Detectives determined he had also taken the vehicle in the robbery on Kentucky.  He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the parole warrant and a charge of aggravated robbery.  Officers did not find the gun used in the robbery.  The victim was treated and released.
