Pendleton – An Elwood man wanted on a Felony Warrant for Child Molestation and Incest in Madison County was arrested in Wisconsin over the weekend, after a citizen spotted his face on a Facebook posting stating he was wanted.

Indiana State Police received word over the weekend that Shawn Anderson, age 31 of Elwood, was arrested in Boyceville, Wisconsin, after a local citizen recognized his face on a Facebook post that listed Anderson as a wanted felon. Anderson had been living in the Boyceville area under an assumed name. He is currently incarcerated in Wisconsin awaiting extradition to Indiana.

The Indiana State Police had issued a public plea for help in locating the wanted felon in early December, 2014. Indiana State Police Detective Bob May, whose investigation led to the Indiana charges on Anderson, said “This is just another example of what a powerful tool social media can be for Law Enforcement.”
