Lakeville Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery and Strangulation
Rochester – Friday night, a battery investigation by officers from the Indiana State Police resulted in the arrest of Jordan Miller, 33, Lakeville, IN. Miller was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail to face criminal charges for aggravated battery, domestic battery while in the presence of a child under 16, and strangulation.
Friday at approximately 9:07 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police, the Rochester Police Department, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call reporting a fight in progress at 759 Parkway Lane in Rochester. When officers entered the residence they found a 24-year-old female on the floor unconscious and unresponsive. She also had labored breathing. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
The investigation revealed that the injured female and Miller were in a domestic relationship. Miller allegedly became upset with her because she refused to travel with him to Lakeville; the female believed Miller was too intoxicated to drive. Miller allegedly hit the female repeatedly in the head and neck with a closed fist. She was knocked unconscious. Miller also purportedly applied pressure to her neck and throat. At one point Miller allegedly drug the unconscious female from a bedroom to the home’s living room. Miller was arrested and transported to the Fulton County Jail. Further investigation revealed that another man in the home, Robert Carbone, 33, was found to have an active arrest warrant through Porter County, Indiana. He was wanted for class A felony dealing in a controlled substance. He is incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail pending extradition.
There were approximately 10 juveniles in the home. They ranged in ages from infant to 14-years. They were either released into the care of their parents or into the custody of the Fulton County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Protective Services. The 24-year-old female was the only one injured in this incident. She and Miller were in Rochester visiting his family members.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
