LOCATION: Highway 395 near Cuddeback Road, Red Mountain
SUSPECT:
VICTIM: Richard Henighen, age 27 of Lakewood
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, January 17, 2015, at approximately 9:20 P.M., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Barstow station, responded to a stabbing call in the area of Highway 395 and Cuddeback Road. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located the victim, Richard Henighen (27 YOA), suffering from apparent stab wounds. Henighen was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators determined Henighen was involved in an altercation with another subject, at a camp site, which resulted in Henighen’s injuries. Detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Homicide Detail, have been requested and are conducting the investigation. At this time, it is unclear as to what caused the altercation. Detectives are in the process of questioning the involved subject and witnesses.
