On January 18th, 2015, at about 7:10am, the Chula Vista Fire Department responded to a small brush fire near the I-5 north onramp from Main Street. As the Fire Department extinguished the fire, they located a deceased male in the remains of the fire scene. The area containing the fire may have been used as a local transient camp. Investigators from the Chula Vista Police Department and Fire Department responded to the scene to conduct an investigation as to the origin of the fire and the death of the male. The deceased male has not been identified and the investigation is continuing. Both the onramp and offramp to Main Street from I-5 North are closed due to the investigation.
