Compton Station receives four new explorers
On Saturday, January 17, 2015, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department graduated Explorer Academy Class 93 with 172 (from the three LASD Explorer Academies: North, College of the Canyons and STARS) explorers from various participating agencies. This event culminates 19 weeks of intensive training where the explorer recruits are instructed on CPR, Physical Training, Firearms Training, Tactics, Civic Service and Discipline.
Compton Sheriff’s Station graduated four recruits, whom have now joined the ranks of the Explorer Program.
To date; the Compton Explorer Program has produced two LASD Deputies and one recruit in the Custody Assistant Academy. Many of our former explorers are on active duty serving their country in the Army, Navy and Marines. Several others are attending universities and colleges throughout the State of California.
Similarly, Compton Station also hosts a Volunteer Program and an Internship Program. Both of which have yielded, two LASD Deputies, one LAPD Officer, one Welfare Fraud Investigator and two LASD Recruits currently attending the academy.
For more information on the Explorer Program, contact Deputy Victor Montes at (310) 605-6578, email: [email protected]
For more information on the Volunteer and Internship Programs, contact Deputy Jose N. Aguirre Jr. at (310) 605-3502, email: [email protected]
