Wanted Homicide Suspect out of Merced County Arrested: Another Homicide Suspect Remains Outstanding

On Thursday, January 15, 2015 at approximately 2PM, Detectives from Menlo Park Police Departments Narcotic Enforcement Team located a silver BMW that had recently been involved in a Homicide in Merced County. The vehicle was parked in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Newbridge Street in Menlo Park.

Detectives set up surveillance on the residence in an attempt locate the suspects. At approximately 4:30PM, a subject matching the description of one of the outstanding homicide suspects left the residents in dark colored Honda.

Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Victor Hernandez, 24 years old out of Menlo Park. A warrant check through Menlo Park Police Communications confirmed Hernandez was wanted out of Merced County for Homicide.

Victor Hernandez was detained and transported back to Menlo Park Police Department. Officers from Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, and Redwood City Police Departments conducted a search of the residence for further suspects. The search was conducted and no other suspects were located.

Detectives from Merced County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with the investigation. They have advised that there is still one suspect outstanding by the name of Jose Hernandez, 26 out of Menlo Park. It is believed that Jose Hernandez is still in the area. His picture is attached.

Merced County Detectives took custody of Victor Hernandez and transported him back to Merced County Jail.
