Two subjects arrested in a stolen vehicle.

On January 15th, 2015 at approximately 0802 hours, Morgan Hill Police Officer’s located a stolen 2014 Dodge Charger as it was driving north on Monterey Road. The Officer’s attempted to make an enforcement stop on the Dodge, however, the Dodge did not yield and continued to travel north on Monterey Road. In an effort to prevent the Dodge from reaching dangerous speeds, Officer’s utilized the Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) as the vehicle neared the area of Monterey Road at Jarvis Drive. Seconds later, the Dodge came to a stop in the number one lane of Monterey Road. The driver and the passenger were taken into custody without incident. The driver was identified as Melissa Hansen, 27, from Morgan Hill and the passenger was identified as Michael Rivera, 38, from Gilroy. Neither Hansen nor Rivera sustained any injuries during the incident. The stolen Dodge and two police patrol vehicles sustained minor damage as a result from the PIT maneuver.

Melissa Hansen was arrested on the following charges: Possession of a stolen vehicle; Failure to yield to a police officer; Possession of stolen property; Possession of a replica firearm; Identity theft; Commission of a felony while out on bail; Possession of oxycodone; Possession of narcotic paraphernalia; Under the influence of​ a controlled substance and possession of forged prescriptions.

Michael Rivera was arrested for the following charges: Possession of a stolen vehicle; Possession of stolen property; Possession of oxycdone; Possession of narcotic paraphernalia; under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of forged prescriptions; Possession of a replica firearm; Possession of stolen property; Identity theft and Violation of probation.

Both subjects were transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail and booked into their custody.
