The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Rutherford County District Attorney's Office, are investigating the death of five month old Lebron Jayden Reynolds. This investigation is considered a homicide.
At 12:36 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2015, the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office received a call from 318 JM Lovelace Road in reference to an unresponsive five month old child.
Numerous interviews and search warrants have been conducted as part of this investigation, and we will continue our pursuit for information through additional interviews.
An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday morning at Baptist Hospital. The Medical Examiner advised that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
At this time, we have a person of interest, Tyler Dale McCurry. This individual is in custody on unrelated drug charges at the Rutherford County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
